OP
to be Square - Threading Process in Warp Rep
Documenting
the Design and Weaving Process for a Reinterpretation of Laurie
Herrick's "Circus Op"
February 12, 2011
The threading process
on the warp rep rug began Friday, Feburary 11, 2011. In one and a half hours,
I threaded 30 blocks which is ten inches of warp. Each block is 5 ends pattern
alternating with 5 ends background. Since I'm getting a late start on threading
today, I hope to get the center section threaded before the evening activities.
The
center section of 48 blocks is threaded, meaning 16 more inches threaded in
2 hours 15 minutes. I have 30 blocks to go which should take me another hour
and a half tomorrow. Then the next steps of sleying the reed and tying onto
front beam.
Left
section of 30 blocks completed. Sleying, tying onto from beam, and weaving will
begin tomorrow on Valentine's Day!
