The square Foam Plate and the round Foam Disk are the perfect introductory tools for learning how to make Kumihimo braids. Using petite satin cord, the morning session will focus on 8-element braid structures: a square braid called Maru Genji, a round braid called Edo Yatsu Gumi, and a flat braid called Hira Kara Gumi. The afternoon session will introduce braiders to a 16-element braid structure called Kongō Gumi using four different colors of petite satin cord, with the option of selecting from eight different two-color designs for a second braid. The result of the workshop will be five unique key rings demonstrating the variety of braid structures.
